BRADFORD SOAP International Inc. of West Warwick has changed its name to Bradford Labs Inc. Its new logo is designed with the red "B" retaining elements of the brand heritage and the red circle representing a nod to the company's core mission and values.
WEST WARWICK – Bradford Soap, a manufacturer in operation in the Pawtuxet Valley for 150 years, has changed its name following the acquisition of personal care products maker Solo Labs Inc. last year.
The company said the new name, Bradford Labs reflects its expanded product lineup and its strategic alignment of cross-category capabilities, vision and customer focus.
"The transition to Bradford Labs marks a significant milestone in our timeline," Bradford said in a statement. "Our team remains dedicated to ensuring continuity for our customers while empowering them with even more advanced capabilities to launch with confidence what's next in personal care."
The new name, Bradford Labs said, was deliberately chosen to integrate the names of the previously known Bradford Soap and Solo Laboratories. Its new logo is designed with the red "B" retaining elements of the brand heritage and the red circle representing a nod to the company's core mission and values.
Established in 1927 and based in Broadview, Il., Solo Labs focuses on custom formulation and in-house manufacturing within the beauty and personal care sector, and has three facilities producing an array of haircare, skincare and personal care products.
In 2023, Gemspring Capital Management LLC, a private equity firm based in Westport, Conn., acquired Bradford Soap International Inc. for an undisclosed value.
The West Warwick manufacturer, which also develops and formulates its products, was founded in 1876 and is known for organic products and environmental sustainability efforts. As of last year, Bradford had 280 employees, according to Providence Business News 2026 Book of Lists.
In addition to its Rhode Island headquarters, Bradford also has facilities in Columbus, Ind., and Calexico, Calif.
